BCS developed a range of high quality rugged analogue and digital IP cameras for niche markets and applications.
Crane applications require high quality camera systems which can both withstand any harsh environment and deliver real time images for safe, effective rea time control.
The benefit of analogue cameras, is that they have very low latency of 30-40 milliseconds (ms). By comparison IP cameras have a theoretical latency of 120 ms, but in practice 140 - 180 ms is more commonly achieved across an IP network.
Though a bit slower, IP cameras can deliver better quality images, and are easier to connect, network and to control remotely This is important for functions like zooming and for integration with optical character recognition (OCR) software.
BCS has developed a range of IP cameras including pan-tilt-zoom and infrared versions in heavy duty stainless or anodized aluminum housings which comply with these demands. These have an IP69 rating and internal heaters for operation in minus 40 to plus 85 degrees Celsius. Versions withstanding a shock of up to 80 G are available for mounting on e.g crane spreaders.
